Bagels, Botox and Barbells is a an upbeat real life, education podcast. Hosted by Dr Chrisna Ravyse, health and wellness professional and researcher together with her lifelong friend; Marna Fox and exceptional health and life coach.  Sharing their own journey and struggles with living a health life after forty.


Bagels, Botox and Barbells is about the elements of life that most women and especially those at the other side of 35 start dealing with.  As much as we mature in our thinking and actions and find freedom in embracing who we are we still face numerous challenges.  Suddenly there is a change in our metabolism, influencing what we can eat and what not, and then what exercise is best at our 'mature' age. Our body perceptions change and we start looking at other means to enhance our beauty, all while trying to be the best mom, wife and a career woman.  Feeling good in our own skin no matter your age is natural and nothing to be ashamed of.  We do not believe that anyone should just resort to the thought of this is who I am and I just have to accept that I am now old.  

 Both the hosts of this podcast went through a transformation journey after 35 and managed to take their power back and are living their best lives!  Marna Fox is a wife and a certified Health and Life Coach. She loves good food and wine, enjoys travelling and being outdoors.  All the good things in life! She is also passionate about healthy living in every area of life and wants to help others make that commitment to healthy living, too. This, however, was not always the case.

After struggling with losing weight, sleep deprivation, low energy levels and anxiety, she realised at the age of 42 that things need to change and embarked on a health journey.  She enrolled with Health Coach Institute to learn more about habit change and transformation and started to see the changes in her own life, without going on crazy diets or doing any military exercise and still enjoying the good things in life.  She truly believes that if we change our habits and routines, we change our lives and believes one step at a time.

Today her mission is to help and inspire women around the world to master healthy habits that serve them for life, to stay healthy and blissful and having the energy to do the things they’ve always wanted to do.

Chrisna Ravyse holds a PhD in clinical exercise physiology, and always was keen on sport and adventure.  Loving life and all it has to offer.  Chrisna is living it to the full Chrisna believes that our thoughts shape our lives and also play a big role in reaching our health goals.

However there was a time when she too hit rock-bottom with gaining too much weight with three pregnancies, fighting post-natal depression and feeling frustrated because she had all the knowledge on how to change, it took 3 years before Chrisna was able to return to her old self, although not having quite returned to her ideal state of being she is on a continuous journey and learned to enjoy the journey and be grateful for what she has achieved rather than focussing on what still has to be.
